The color red as the underlying theme of the temporary exhibitions Red Empire and Fashion Red that will color the House Museum until May 2024.

“Red Empire . Egyptian porphyry and beyond from ancient to baroque”: egyptian porphyry as the sole protagonist of the temporary exhibition with sculptures and applied art objects that constitute the heart of an exhibition itinerary that enhances the encounter between over 30 works in porphyry, marble and sculpted stones from the permanent collection of the Zani House Museum and the extraordinary Egyptian porphyries, dating back to the 3rd century AD. at the end of the 18th century, coming from the Dino and Ernesta Santarelli Foundation in Rome.

“Red Fashion. Roberto Capucci between fire and cinnabar”: the exhibition, set up in the baroque rooms of the Zani House Museum, was born as an idea of ​​comparison between sculptures and applied art objects in Egyptian red porphyry and nine extraordinary sculpture dresses made between the 1950s and 2024 by the master of fashion Roberto Capucci. Alongside a rich kaleidoscope of colours, Capucci has in fact repeatedly used the color red in his high fashion creations using bright fabrics such as taffetas and the pleating technique, thus obtaining an ever-changing red, an ideal combination with the shapes and surfaces shiny porphyry.

Immerse yourself in an unprecedented and fascinating thematic journey dedicated to the most celebratory color of imperial greatness with the third stage of the Red Trilogy!

On the occasion of the temporary exhibitions Empire Red and Red Fashion, the House Museum of the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation is enriched with a rich calendar of collateral events. Extraordinary openings, conferences and a concert with the queen voice of baroque music, that of the contralto Sara Mingardo, for a program entirely dedicated to the Red Trilogy.

Conference by Massimiliano Capella (Director of the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation for art and culture)
