WELCOME AUTUMN!

Guided visits and tastings to discover the world of Bacchus

The flavors of Franciacorta between art, food and wine

The Fondazione Paolo e Carolina Zani proposes, with the patronage of the Franciacorta Consortium, a guided tour to discover the most beautiful works of the collection that tell the Dionysian myth: from the painting by Giambattista Tiepolo dedicated to the Wedding of Bacchus and Ariadne (1730-1735) to the Allegory of the Earth, a valuable canvas by François Boucher that belonged to the King of France Louis XV, passing through the Bacchanalia that animate the white porcelain of Massimiliano Soldani Benzi (second half of the 18th century).

The garden of the Casa Museo is also populated with sculptures and vases that eternalize the memory of the god of wine. Autumn thus takes on the appearance of Bacchus in a beautiful nineteenth-century sculpture in Vicenza stone, while Bacchic masks decorate the belly of a pair of Victorian terracotta vases. Exceptional is the Triumph of Bacchus that runs like a bas-relief frieze on the body of a large eighteenth-century crater in white Carrara marble, inspired by the ancient model of the Medici Vase today in the Uffizi.

At the end of each guided itinerary, visitors will be given the opportunity to participate in an exclusive tasting, conducted by an expert AIS sommelier, of different types of Franciacorta accompanied by typical culinary proposals of the area.

Franciacorta is the first Italian wine, produced exclusively with the method of refermentation in the bottle, to obtain the Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin (DOCG) and, at the same time, the recognition of a production method that goes beyond the expression «wine bubbly wine”. Today on the labels we can read the denomination “Franciacorta”, the only term that globally defines the territory, the production method and the wine itself. It is precisely for this reason that the Paolo and Carolina Zani Foundation wants to give visitors the opportunity to get to know and appreciate excellent products from the territory to which it belongs.
