Description

The portion of Grand Canal depicted here is commonly known as “la Volta.” You will be able to make out: Palazzo Giustiniani, on the left, next to the magnificent Palazzo Foscari. The center of the composition is dominated by Palazzo Balbi. On the right: Palazzo Civran, Palazzo Dandolo, and Palazzo Dolfin. This work of art belongs to Marieschi’s later production, recognizable in his smoother style, with fewer lumps and rococo details.
